Things we can learn from a dog

Going, Going, New One??

Remember when we had Going, Going, Gone and Rich sold his old boat. Well of course he couldn't be without a boat. So as soon as the old one was sold he bought a new one. Now mind you this is a bass boat and not a salt water/deep sea boat. But it is a boat just the same. Oh well, men and their toys.

Child

There is a child in all of us. Isn't that the saying? I am glad that my son still acts like a child. It just makes me smile.

Kindergarten

I know that you have all probably read this book: "All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten.", but it is good to look back and remember the good ol' simple days of life.

1. Share everything.
2. Play fair.
3. Put things back where you found them.
4. Clean up your own mess.
5. Don't take things that aren't yours.
6. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
7. Wash your hands before you eat.
8. Flush.
9. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
10. Live a balanced life--learn some more and think some and draw and paint and
sing and dance and play and work every day some.
11. Take a nap every afternoon.

School

Ahhhh, school has begun. Which is good, not because Trey is out of the house, but because with his cousins now gone, I do not have to hear the words, "I'm Bored." Today was his first day back, and he was in a pretty good mood. Jabbered the whole way home and then stopped and talked to Grandma for awhile. So when that happens, it was a good day.

Yes, our son has hit the teenage years. Hopefully they will be as interesting and fun as the past few years have been. Trey has been such a blessing to us and I just don't know what life would be like if we didn't have him. WE LOVE YOU TREY!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy 13th birthday!!!!

Einy, Meany, Miney, Moe

Einy, Meany, Miney, Moe---Catch a chicken by its toe. These are moms new babies. She has only been wanting them since she has moved out here and it has taken dad this long to get them for her. :) They are about 2-3 weeks old, and I don't know who is more attached to them, mom or dad. You remember dad's old saying? "No more animals." Well, as much as I have seen him fuss over these chicks........... Oh well, they are cute. By the way, their names are Einy, Meany, Miney, Moe.

Limosine Ride

The limosine ride was fun. Trey just thought it was the best thing. He just could not sit still. Mom was a little scared when she saw who the driver was though!!!!!

Blog of a 40 year old

So, yes I turned 40. So far not to bad. Rich and Trey took me to Bern's steakhouse in Tampa. It was very nice. The only thing Trey kept saying is "This is so awesome!!!" He is a trip. He enjoyed the Limo. ride VERY much. Bern's is kinda fancy, so we got to teach Trey a little bit of etiquette (like which fork or spoon to use first. :) )

Going, Going, Gone

Well, we have decided to sell it. Took it up to Destin this past weekend and there is going to be someone looking at it today to possibly buy it. We figured as much as it was used, it wans't worth hanging onto. So sorry bro.'s you won't be able to go out on it, but maybe something could be chartered instead. I know Rich is not really happy, but Trey is, he won't have to clean it out anymore.

Ribbons

The Hernando County Fair is going on this week. Mom entered 2 of her plants, a Rabbits Foot Fern and an Orchid Cactus. She got 2 blue ribbons and Best of Show for her Orchid Cactus. Trey entered his Millennium Falcon and Tie Fighter as a Lego Kit and then a green machine as a freestyle. He got 2 red ribbons. We were pretty proud of them both, and here they are with their ribbons and items.

See Rock City

For those of you who don't know this, my husband is afraid of heights. Yes, he can climb a tree stand and that is only because he is strapped to a tree. Hang Christmas lights on the house, forget it.

So we go to Rock City. It was a very nice day. The temperature was a little cool, but the sun was shining and it was clear as anything, you could see for miles.

As you can tell by the pictures, Rich is holding on for dear life. It was hilarious. Trey wasn't to thrilled to be by the edge either. His friend Ryan, of my gosh, I had to holler at him once cuz he was sitting on that wall, legs dangling over (under the rail) and just looking around. He just about scared the wits out of me, and of course, his mom would never have forgiven me.

The Ledge

This ledge is just before you get up to the point where you can see the 7 states. It hangs there in mid-air. I don't know who built it, but i am glad that it is very reinforced. Rich was bound and determined to go out there, he did, but he crawled out there. It was hilarious!!!!:) Trey walked out there and looked like he was going to pray. But he did do his "Captain Morgan" pose. :) Very proud of my "men." I am standing on the ledge to take a picture of the waterfall. The very top of the falls is where you can go to see the 7 states. Sorry, I don't have a picture of Rich crawling out there, I only have it on video.

Dreygon & Zook

You all had been asking about the dragons, so here ya go! If you could just understand what they are thinking... Close up is of Dreygon, thinking, "You're lucky you're on the other side of the glass buddy, trying to blind me with that flash thing!" The second picture is Zook in timeout, I think? We really don't know what he did, but it must have been bad 'cause he stayed there for quite a while. They have to both be over a foot long and Dreygon is the biggest. We can tell them apart because of their size and that Zook has a shorter and rounded off tail, he lost a part of it before he arrived with us. Guess these guys don't grow new tails?

Their really cool though, they don't bite (usually), you can hold them just about anytime you like, and they eat everything. Oh and they eat A LOT!!! They especially like crickets, they even catch them out of mid-air! It's fun to watch them chase them around and eat them. Reminds me of the old "Monster Movies" where the monster runs around eating all of the people.

You all should have one or two of these, they call them the "puppy-dogs" of the lizard world because they are so passive. Oh by the way, just remember to clean your hands before you handle them, if you have had something to eat and the smell is on your hands... well, then your hands smell like food... "YUM"...

That dirty little dog

We have these plans to make a flower/butterfly garden. So we clear an area where there was alot of underbrush. We decide to go out and mark how big we want it and the size and all, so we decide to take Pris out with us. So here we are looking around and deciding what to do, I look down and there WAS my nice clean dog, rolling in the dirt. I had to give her 2 baths to even get her clean. Just so you all know, she is brown, black and WHITE, not gray. :)

In some of the aquariums they had big bubbles where you could climb up in them and get pictures, they were pretty cool. Trey was a little to tall for the one and when he climbed in and stood up, he bumped his head.

Outside the Tennessee Aquarium

This was such a fun trip. The boys had a blast and Rich and I had fun watching them. While Rich was talking with work, the boys played.

Where we stayed in Chattanooga

The house we stayed in wasn't bad at all (upper left one in the pics). It was on the Tennessee River and we had a beautiful view. Rich went out in the mornings to call the turkeys and you could hear them call back from across the river. The boys went fishing for all of one hour and then had enough. (It was a cold morning).

Soccer Team

Here are a few pictures of Trey and soccer. The first one is against a Brooksville team in the Semi-finals. The second one is of his team after the finals with their trophies.

Goal Scoring Machine

Well, I must tell you that I have been a very STRESSED out mom today. Today was the semi-finals and finals for Trey's soccer. He has learned SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much this year and has improved so much this year. Even though he played last year, he was always stuck in goal and never got to play the field. When he did he was told to "kick the ball to so-and-so" never do anything else with it.

This year, Trey started out at mid-field, didn't do all that great, but we were proud that he was out there. The season started with 2 exhibition games against the 2 other under 14 First Hernando youth teams. Mind you our team had the 2 games the others only played one. Well we won both.

In all, they played 12 season games, 2 more exhibition games, 3 tournament games (last weekend) and a semi-final and final game today. Their record was 20 and 1. They lost their final game. I felt so bad for the team. They played so hard and they were so upset when the lost. (I couldn't blame them, I couldn't sleep last night, and couldn't sit still during the games.) Mom and Dad said, "Now you know how we felt and we had to go through 3 of you all playing.:)

Anyways, back to the goal scoring machine. Trey had improved so much, that they moved him to wing the past 7 games. The first time he scored a goal, he was kinda by himself. The coaches just kept screaming at him, "Shoot, shoot", but no not Trey, he looks around sees that no one is close, dribbles a little closer, fakes out the keeper and scores a point. Yes, I went ballistic. So from there on out, Coach called him "G" for Goal Scoring Machine. The funny thing is that he was calling Trey that and we didn't know, and then Rich started calling him that. Well, he scored a total of 3 points and 3 assists for the rest of the season. 2 of these goals and 2 of the assists were in the playoffs.

The coaches have deemed him the Most Improved Player of the Team. They just couldn't believe how far he has come. So now we are just trying to keep him going and in shape for next season. We hope to get a net built for him in the backyard, so he can keep practicing.

I will post some pictures later. I only got one of him today, I just couldn't stand still long enough to get pictures. Just wanted to let everyone know how he did and that we are so proud of what he has accomplished this season.

Trey wants everyone to know that his number was 3, he scored 3 goals, and had 3 assists. (He finally likes the number 3)

Trey's Lego

This is Trey's Christmas present and newest Lego building project. It took him a little while to get it built, but he finally got it done. He had to redo a couple of things cuz he put them on wrong, but once he got it all straightened out, he was pretty proud of himself. This one we are going to put up (we are going to try to hang it somewhere in his room) and not play with it. At least he will "try" not to play with it. :) I think he did a pretty good job on it.
