Spring Break

Spring Break is over. Pretty boring for Trey. Rich was out of town, I had a lovely migraine, one day was shot flying in from Miami. He did get to play paintball with his youth group and then again at home with some friends. The forts he made this past Christmas with his cousins have come in handy.

School started back today and of course it was hard to get up early again. Of course, he came home tired. He has a 1/2 day on Wednesday and then has next Friday and the following Monday off for Easter. Then, the long wait until summer.

He is trying to convince us right now to let him get a dirt bike. I know, I know, I had one when I was younger. (Technically, I didn't, it was my brothers and I was allowed to ride it.) So the debate is on, let him have one or not. I know the risks (he is my only one), and the fun that could be had, but still...............we will see. And no, his aunts, uncles, and most of all his cousins will not help to convince me. :) I will keep you updated on his progress of convincing me though.

Self-Portrait

Here is Trey's self-portrait. (We tried to flip his hair up)

Washington D.C. Trip

Here are a few pictures of Trey's D.C. trip before his batteries wore out. Mind you they wore out on the first day. Oh well,..... Sorry about that last one.

Home

Well, he made it home. By 1Am the phone call came....AA was putting them up in the airport hotel. Seems the boys didn't mind, they had a plasma tv, free room service (once again, courtesy of AA), and all the other cool gadgets in their 5-star hotel room. I do believe that the teachers were glad to see them go.

The 1Am phone call, consisted of "we are coming in at 1-ish and the flight is 18-something." So I told Trey, I will call you in the morning and get the exact info. Of course, when we tried calling----no answer. :<>

The kids (and teachers) all looked a little worse for wear (somehow there luggage made it to Tampa before they did?), but all were very talkative about what they did and the experiences they had.

So Trey made it home safe and sound, now Rich, well he is on his way to California. They saw each other for oh, about 1 hour. That is ok though, Rich got his big hug from Trey before leaving.

Delays

Delays are not always a good thing. Especially when you are waiting for your 13-year-old-son. Found out at 9 PM that our son's 10PM flight will not be there. Actually the flight will be there, he and his classmates will not be on it. There flight out of Washington D.C. was delayed by oh, 2-3 hours. So the time that he was supposed to land in Tampa, they landed in Miami. It is now almost Midnight here and they have no idea when they will get home. There are no more flights out of Miami tonight. So his teacher is trying to work with the airlines to get them a bus here to Tampa. She is slowly losing her patience, I believe.

So, Trey calls about 11PM, no luggage and still no bus. He is all hyped up, as are the rest of the kids. Mr. Kahler, the secondary principal, is not even talking to them anymore, per Trey. I told him that they are probably really stressed out about this and worried about what the parents are thinking. I told him about a dozen times to calm down. Hopefully he has.

We are now waiting a phone call. I told him that as soon as they find out what is going on to call us back.

Delays....................not something that you like, but I guess it was impossible to avoid. Did I mention that when I got the message that Rich was about 20 minutes from the airport? Oh well.

I will let you guys know what happens.......................

Well, he left me............(us)

Trey left us early today to go to Washington D. C. He will be there until Sunday evening when he gets home late. He is going with some of the kids from his 8th grade class at school and seemed to be pretty excited about it. He hopes to see Josh while he is there. Tomorrow he goes to the White House (inside tour) and the Capitol. So he was pretty hyped up about that. Hopefully, he will take some good pictures and we can post them. Until then...................................I miss my "little" boy. :(
