Rock Fight

It started out showing each other some nice rocks.

Then they decided to get each other wet.

Trey complained that he had the disadvantage--no shoes on--so he couldn't move as fast.

I don't know who had the most fun.

They did enjoy themselves though!!!!!

Butterflies

These butterflies were all over the place.

Foothills

Went to the Smokies for 3 days. Short, sweet, but sure wasn't long enough. The picture on the mountain shows a bear. I know it may be hard to see, but Rich and Trey looked through the scope and it was a bear. No, they didn't take a gun, but Trey took his scope off of his paintball gun. It is the little dot on the bottom of the field.

Update on Gram

Gram has been placed in a nursing home. She has said some words and has been laughing a little bit. Aunt Diane brought in the pics of the chickens to show Gram and she tried to say "Goldie" for the one chicken.

Her speech therapist is Polish and he has been speaking to Gram in English and Polish, so I believe that will make her happy.

That is all I know for right now, will keep you all updated!

Gram Update

The latest news from last night, is that Gram is now "out", or unresponsive. Evidently they have found Methadone in her urine. Why, is anyone's guess right now. Aunt Diane was having to go back and get her prescription bottles to see if there was a mix up somehow at the pharmacy. Soon as I hear more, I will post it.

Update on Gram

Mom just called, Dad had talked to Aunt Diane a short time ago. Evidently. Gram was placed on Cardizem (BP/Heart) and she didn't take it, I guess she decided to take one last night. Dad believes that she must have felt something going on at that time and decided to take one.

Her lower part of her heart is not beating right and they have put her on Haldol (narcotic, and to help relax her some). The right side of her mouth is drooping some, but as far as d.ad knows the arm and leg are ok. I guess that she can talk ok, as well.

They also found that she had a urinary tract infection (which can be normal in people her age).

Gram has been mad somewhat since she was in the hospital last time, and said that they should have just left her to die. Well, this time when Aunt Diane found her she told her that she was calling 911. When the paramedics showed up, Gram just gave Aunt Diane that look. Grams stubborn streak is still functioning well. :)

That is all for now. Will keep you updated

Great-Grandma Hughes

Mom called me earlier this afternoon and said that Duane (Aunt Diane's husband) called and said that Gram was in the hospital with a stroke. They had checked on her before church and she was doing ok, when they went back by afterwards, they found her laying on the floor. All they know right now is that she is resting.

Pastor Jerry had come by and talked some with Gram while she was here. He stated that she knew that Christ had died for her sins and could answer alot of the questions about heaven and hell. He says that he believes that she may be saved because of the things that she had said. Hopefully she is, PRAY that if she is not and that as she lies in the hospital that the things that Pastor, Mom, and Dad have said to her, will come back and that she will accept Christ as her Savior.

Will keep you updated here, as I find out more.

Doritos & Cream Cheese

Mel, just had to let you know that Trey has found that he likes Doritos & Cream Cheese. We got on the topic one day of chips & dip. I mentioned the Fritos and Sour Cream and he just gave me this look. Well he was making a bagel one afternoon and the topic came up of dips again. I mentioned the Doritos to him. I said to bad we don't have a bag, but lo & behold there was a small snack bag in the pantry, well he tried it, smiled, and said that it was good.

So now there is another one hooked on Doritos and Cream Cheese.

H.A. *** 47

Happy 47th Anniversay Mom & Dad, hope ya have 47 more! (Remember Gram want ya to live past 100!) Hope your evening goes better than your day!!! Love you both!

Dogs

As you all know, we have dogs in the neighborhood. Moms next door neighbor has two Neopolitan Mastiffs, and they were always pretty friendly dogs. Sheila has been there for maybe two years and Gino for about one. Mom would usually go up to the gate and pet them and when we would walk they would run inside their yard with us until they couldn't go any farther. Gino would always try to put his head through the fencing so that you would pet him. It was kinda cute.

Until today.............

Mom and I started out for our normal morning walk. I told mom "look the dogs are shaking the gate." Well they were and they both got out, there was a cement truck coming down the main road and we didn't want them to run out and get hit so we called them, or at least I know that I did. So here they come running, and then growling, and the next thing ya know, Sheila has bit mom and knocked mom to her knees. Mom grabbed at our fence to try to get up, and was trying to hit Sheila at the same time. Gino went after mom and I smacked him in the head with the towel I was carrying. Mom and I kept hitting them both and swinging at them with the towels that we were carrying to try to keep them away from us. I was a little scared to try and hit them with our hands (didn't want to get that close) or to try and kick them. Mom finally got behind a tree and we were screaming for our neighbor (she was in the house and couldn't hear us.) The dogs finally went they other way and we were able to get back to moms house.

We got pictures, but she said I couldn't post a picture of her butt. She has about a 3-4 inch cut on her left butt cheek, the skin was broken, but not enough where mom needs stitches. And her knee is scratched up pretty well from falling. Of course everything is starting to swell and bruise.

So mom decided that she still wanted to take a short walk and as we were walking we saw our neighbor (I called her and told her what happened when we went back to moms). She apologized and we went on our way. They were trying to fix the gate so that it wouldn't be so loose and the dogs couldn't get back out.

Came home and told Rich (he was going into work late cuz he was driving up to Destin today for a business trip). Well of ourse, he flipped, :) Told us to call the police and report it or he was going to shoot the dogs. I told him to let dad handle it, but he was pretty upset, which is understandable. I did call moms doctor to see if she needed a shot or anything (the dog is up-to-date on her shots), so they are to call us back when the doctor gets in to let us know.

Anyways, that was how our Monday morning started, ......so how was your day?!

Transformers

Well the local theater had an early showing of the movie Transformers last night. So Rich got us tickets to go. It was a really good movie. If ya haven't seen it, ya have to. Of course, Rich now wants the 2008 "Bumble Bee". Just what ever you do, don't leave during the movie cuz you will definitely miss something.
It was fun watching it with all the movie geeks, they were all cheering, hollering and clapping. Anyways.......just go see it.

Names

Eeiny, Meiny, Miney, Moe,........Eeiny, Meiny, Crooked Beak and Goldie,..........Dinner, Supper and Goldie.

These are the names that have been given to mom's chickens. Eeiny is no longer with the crew. Dinner and Supper?, one is going to go in the pot. They are as mean as anything, dad only needs to decide on one. Right now it looks like the crooked beak is the next main meal on mom's table.

G-Grandma Hughes enjoyed watching them as she sat on the back porch and would crow back at them. I do believe she wanted to see dad do one in and see if mom would really cook it or not.

Here they are, you decide which one of the roosters is to go. Trey says both, but to let him shoot them with his paintball gun first. :)

Pris ain't scared!!

Hey let us in!

I am talking to you.

Meiny, Moe aka Crooked Beak and Goldie
